REAL LIFE
I
would like to take a few minutes to share something
special with you. This is something more important
to me than tournaments, tackle or fishing. It is
my relationship with Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
Many years ago, I was just like anyone else... lost
and without a Savior. I was on my way to hell and
didn't really even know it. More than that, I probably
didn't much care. I had a lot of the things that
I wanted. I had a steady job, and a roof over my
head. And I could go out and get drunk whenever
I wanted to...
I wasn't asking for anything more.
But then I met someone that woke me up. It was my
girlfriend, who started inviting me to church on
Sundays. At this church I listened to a Preacher
sharing what he called the Good News, or the Gospel.
He told of God's Love for me, and for every one
else, and how Jesus had died for my sins. I took
it lightly at first, but the Holy Spirit didn't
take it lightly. He started working on my hardened
heart, softening it a little at a time. Before long
I started to realize that there was indeed a big
empty spot inside of me that no-one or anything
could fill. I started taking the preacher's message
a little more seriously. I listened to him telling
me and others about Salvation and Heaven. Eventually,
His message got through to me and I gave my heart
and life to Jesus. That was December 12, 1982. I've
never looked back or regretted it for one moment.
God has done some really GREAT things in my life.
He gave me a beautiful wife who loves me in spite
of my faults and shortcomings (this is the same
teenage girl that started bringing me to church).
He gave me two daughters that I love dearly. He
surrounded me with His never-ending Love. But, most
of all, he saved my soul. I know that I am Heaven-bound
should anything happen to me. And I take great comfort
in knowing that He loves me in a way that no man
or woman can understand.
The preacher that lead me to Christ explained things
in a way that I could understand. He made God's
plan very clear and easy to understand with regard
to the salvation of man. I would like to do the
same for you here.
None
of us is righteous...
God's word says in Romans 3:10-
There is no one righteous, not even one.
You
and I are all sinners..... Romans 3:23
says-
for all have sinned and fall short
of the glory of God.
There
is a price to pay for our sinfulness....
Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life
through Christ Jesus, our Lord.
God
loves us in spite of our sins.....
Romans 5:8 says- But God demonstrates
His love for us in this: while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
God
has provided a way of salvation for us through
Jesus Christ. We need to reach out
and take hold of it.
If we ask for salvation, it will be ours.
God assures us of this. Romans 10:9-10
says-
9 That if you confess with
your mouth,
"Jesus is Lord", and believe in your
heart
that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved. 10 For
it is with your heart
that you believe and are justified, and it is
with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
If
you have read this and you feel that God is speaking
to you, and you would like to ask Jesus into your
heart to be your own Savior, you can do just that
by repeating the prayer below, or one similar
to it.
Don't put it off until tomorrow. No one is guaranteed
that they will have a tomorrow.
Grab hold of it while you still have today.
You won't regret it.
Prayer
of Salvation
Jesus, I know that
I am a sinner.
I know that I deserve to be punished for my sins.
I know that I am lost and need a savior.
Please forgive me and come into my heart and life.
Make me a new creation and help me to turn from
sin.
Be my Savior and Lord of my life.
I ask this in Your name.
Amen
If
you have just prayed this prayer or one like it,
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The Bible says that all the angels in Heaven are
rejoicing with you!!
You now have a new start on life and a home in
Heaven. Most important of all, you are forgiven
for
ALL of your past sins.
You are a new creation in Christ.
I
would like to hear from you.
Tell me about yourself and your salvation experience.
