New Favorite Frog Bait for Bass

I recently had the chance to try the Ribbit Frog from Stanley Lure Company. I hadn’t planned on trying it. In fact, I hadn’t even bought any of them yet when I got to fish with them.

It’s a long story, but I ended up using them during one of my recent tournaments when a friend of mine handed some of them to me. I ended up going on to catch 3 bass on them and take 2nd place in the tourney 🙂

I also recently fished them while out during an evening/night trip. They caught some good bass for me that night too.

The paddle feet on these frogs make a light buzzbait type of sound, which is unusual for a frog. But it makes them a great bait, even in open water.

Needless to say, I now own a bunch of them! I ordered a new reel from Bass Pro Shops last night, and I was sure to order a couple bags of Ribbit Frogs along with that reel too.

So here’s a little video with Lonnie Stanley, the creator of the Ribbit Frog and the owner of Stanley Lures. I hope you enjoy it 🙂

Fishing Reel Reviews

After many weeks of research and development, my new fishing reel review site is almost ready to roll and be launched!

ReelReporter.com will feature reviews of hundreds of different brands, styles and models of reels from all of the major manufacturers.

Actual user feedback from real anglers will highlight each reel model, providing unbiased and legitimate reel reviews. Each reel will also feature a rating of 1 – 5 stars, based on the sum/average of the feedback provided by actual buyers of these products, providing readers with instant access to valuable information about each reel.

These things alone will save you a lot of time researching and digging around on the web.

As soon as the site is launched and live I will post a new mesage here letting you know.

Stay warm,

Curt <><

New Reel Website in the Works

I am currently in the process of creating and building a brand new website that will be devoted 100% to giving ratings and feedback on bass fishing reels, directly from users of the reels themselves.

The new site will be located at ReelReporter.com and will feature dozens of different brands and model reels, with short reviews, specs, etc.

Brands of reels that will be featured will be Shimano, Abu Garcia, Daiwa, Penn and many others.

Some of the models will include the Curado, Spirex, Revo and many more… too many to name here.

The site will consist of photos of each reel, as well as actual customer reviews and testimonials.

The time frame for the completion of the site isn’t clear yet, but the bulk of it should be up and functional by the end of February… just in time for your Spring fishing tackle research and shopping 🙂

Ordinarily I would tell you to go bag a hawg, but since much of the country’s lakes are under lots of ice right now, I’ll simply tell you to stay warm!
